What we plan around in Tamarac

  • 55+ communities and associations. Kings Point, the Mainlands sections and the other age-restricted communities usually have a guard gate, an association office, and rules on move days and hours. Check with the office before you pick a date, then leave our name with the gate and send us the rules.
  • Garden-style condo buildings. Two- to four-story buildings with a small elevator or outside stairs, and long walkways from the parking lot. Send the building and unit number and where a van can stop; the carry is part of the hourly time, and there are no stair fees.
  • Golf-course homes. Mostly single-story houses with a driveway or carport. Tell us if the HOA limits where a van can park or when work can start.
  • Summer storms. Afternoon downpours are normal from June to October, so furniture is wrapped in pads before it leaves the building.

Downsizing, family moves and routes

Many Tamarac moves are a household getting smaller: a house to a condo, one condo to another, or a parent moving closer to family, with a few pieces going to children or grandchildren on the way. Tell us which pieces go where and we plan the stops in one trip. Label anything that goes to a second address before the crew arrives.

Tamarac sits between Florida's Turnpike and the Sawgrass Expressway, so Coral Springs, Margate, North Lauderdale, Lauderhill and Sunrise are short drives, Fort Lauderdale is straight down Commercial Boulevard, and Boca Raton and Miami-Dade are a highway trip away. There's no travel fee: billed time starts when the crew arrives at your first address, and the drive between your addresses is part of it.

One van holds about 500 cubic feet, roughly a studio or a light 1-bedroom; for more, we'll suggest a second trip or a second crew (each crew: $195 for the first hour, then $165/hour).

2 movers + Sprinter van: $195 for the first hour · Then $165/hour per crew, billed in 30-minute increments · Billed time starts when the crew arrives at your first address · No travel fee · No stair fees

One or two items only? That's a flat rate instead, priced in the chat from photos and both addresses. Either way, you get a written estimate before the job. Early-morning and evening rates are on the pricing page →

A certificate of insurance (COI) is always available for your building. Adding the building as additionally insured is $75.

Tamarac questions

My community has to approve the move first. When should I book?

Get the association's approval and the allowed move days first, then book the date with us. Send the rules and the gate instructions. If they want a COI, it's always available; naming the association as additional insured is $75.

Can you move my mother from a house to a condo and drop a few pieces at family?

Yes. That's an hourly small move with more than one stop: $195 for the first hour, then $165/hour for 2 movers + the van, in 30-minute increments, with the drive between stops included. You get a written estimate first.

I only need movers, not a van. Is that cheaper?

It's the same price. The crew still comes in the van, because they need transport and the van carries all the moving equipment: dollies, pads, straps and tools.

Is there a travel fee to Tamarac?

No. There's no travel fee anywhere we work: billed time starts when the crew arrives at your first address.
